CHARLEY PRIDE, "THE PRIDE OF COUNTRY MUSIC" TO APPEAR AT ROCKY TOP BENEFIT

Keller, TX ... Rocky Top Therapy Center kicks off its 20th anniversary celebration at The Great Trail Drive and Denim and Pearls Dinner Dance, October 9 ,2010, in the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Great Trail Drive returns this year with an even bigger cast of cowboys (and characters) to help mark the 20lh anniversary of the equine facilitated therapy center in Keller, Texas. Numerous dignitaries and celebrities are expected to ride the trails along the Trinity River to downtown Fort Worth again this year.

CBS 11 BROADCASTS SPECIAL ON LOCAL THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER

Dallas/Fort Worth – CBS 11 will air a locally-produced program highlighting a Keller ranch where equine-assisted therapy is used to help North Texans. “Rocky Top Therapy: Horses, Healing and Hope” will air Christmas Day at 4 p.m.

News anchor Doug Dunbar takes an in-depth look at Rocky Top Therapy Center’s various programs for children and adults with physical and emotional challenges.  He talks with participants who have benefited from the therapy and their family members, as well as the staff and volunteers who work with the horses and riders.  Dunbar also details a new local effort, the “Horses for Heroes” outreach program, for combat veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan.

KELLER – Rocky Top Therapy Center is one of five area Tarrant County charities who recently received generous $16,000 donations from Hangman’s House of Horrors.  Each year, net proceeds from Hangman’s benefit local charities, all of which are non-profit, 501c-3 organizations.  Hangman’s 2008 beneficiaries include the American Cancer Society, a Wish with Wings, Cenikor Foundation, Rocky Top Therapy Center and SafeHaven of Tarrant County.  All funds will remain in Tarrant County for local programs and services.

KELLER –  Philanthropy is defined by, “Love felt by an individual towards humankind.  It is expressed through acts of generosity and charity and seeks to promote the greater happiness and prosperity of humanity.”  Rocky Top Therapy Center is one of the selected charities to recently receive a grant from the Trophy Club Women’s Club philanthropic efforts.
